10th Ski Goggles

How much is too much to spend on our anniversary?

My boyfriend has really expensive taste. I want to get him something really nice for our one-year anniversary.
So far I got him a sweatshirt (about $25 - it was on sale), and I'm going to get him the cliche valentines day stuff - a small teddy bear and box of chocolates, but that's not going to cost me more than $10. But, I know I want to get him something else.
He's been talking about these ski goggles he really wants, but he can't justify spending the money on himself when he's saving up for a car and just got new skis. I know he'll put them to good use - he's been skiing since he was a baby. The only problem is that they're $150. That seems like a lot for a 17 year old to be spending on an anniversary present.

Is $185 too much to be spending on an anniversary? The only thing is, it's a combined present. Our anniversary is on February 15th, and Valentines day is the day before.

I guess it really depends on how serious you two are and what you can afford. I would love to give out cars and trips but it's not in my budget. This is both of your anniversary not just his. Whatever you give him should represent your love, not the contents of your wallet (or the lack thereof).

He obviously doesn't have a problem spending money on himself so I'm sure those goggles will come to him via his parents or himself. Just remember, love don't cost a thing, so don't seem like you are trying to buy his love.
