What is the gun that Adrien Brody uses in the new movie Predators?
It appears as though its a rapid fire shotgun based on the shells he has on his armor that he reloads it with. However based on how fast the gun fires in the movie I have never seen a shotgun like that and I wondered if it is actually a real weapon or not.
The shotgun is an Auto Assault 12, a full automatic shotgun fed by either a 20 round our a 30 round drum magazine. The shotgun was developed some years ago but the inventor didn't quite get all the bugs worked out. Another inventor took up the design while back and perfected it to the point where it became commercially viable. It is intended as a military service weapon. Its unique operating system reduces perceived recoil by directing it downward rather than backward. The muzzle rise normally associated with firing a gun offsets the downward directed recoil. This results in a full auto 12 gauge that has only a small amount of recoil and muzzle rise. In theory it works similar the the KRISS full auto sub gun.
