California Crest
Do you know what kind of worm this is?
I live in southern california, I was near the city of Tijuana/sun-land out in the Angele's Crest mountains, I found the cats playing with a big orange root/potato bug. When i chaste them off to dispose of it I saw some string hanging out the back. Thinking it was the beast guts I went to pick it up and gross out my buddy. then it ran off and i realized the thin hard red/black 7-8 inch long stings were moving! and most likely worms of some kind. gross! I touched them! But ya, does anyone know what kind of worms these were?
It is probably a horsehair worm. They are internal parasites of the potato bug.
