What are some arguments for againsts the Canadian seal hunt?
Have to do a debate I'm on the side that wants to ban it. I would just like to hear some points from both sides to see what I'm up against.
Harp seals are killed during the 1 st week on their life's due to the quality of their pelts,which are used to make fur coats. The excuse used by Canada is that seals are deplenishing the fish so they have to control the numbers.
This is a lie. Its about income and profit for Canada.Anyone who does this for a living is sick in the head.
Since 2003 over 1 million baby seals have been killed. They are hit over the head to stun them,or they are shot,or hit with a hakapik, and are often skinned alive.In Canada the sealers are protected by the 'Seal Protection Regulations' if you see a sealer club a seal pup and you don’t have a permit to witness the slaughter you can be arrested, jailed and fined up to $100,000 or sent to jail for a year.

The Canadian goverment use sensorship and propaganda to protect their actions. The other excuse they use is that the hunters will loose an income.More income could be gained from taking tourists to view these innocent and loveable creatures.
There is no justifcation for this yearly slaughter whatsoever.
