broken wing? or what?
my society finch has been sitting on the floor of my cage since last night or this morning (i dont really know when because i first saw her this morning) and her wing seems to be broken. she gets along with the other bird, but could it have been my other bird? its sitting and she closes her eyes alot and her feathers look a little ruffled. she tried to fly, but she couldnt and fell back down. if its a broken wing, will she still be bale to walk? how can i get it fixed? I NEED HELP FAST ! and dont say that i have to put my bird down. no way jose is that ever happening ! my poor baby ... :[
From what you're describing, I can't tell if her wing is broken, or if she's just weak. Either way, when a bird sits on the floor of its cage, it's very sick and needs to go to the vet.
Until you can get her to the vet, can you put her in a smaller cage, with food and water dishes on the floor and perhaps a heating pad on low to keep her warm? She needs supportive care to keep her alive until you get her to the vet.
