Is the Wu Jian and Tang Dao as good as the Katana?
Are these two Chinese swords just as strong as the japanese katana like if there is a sword clashing with the wu jian and tang dao vs katana would they be even in terms of strength like can they block the katanas strike and can they do as much stabbing and cutting power as the katana.
They each have a distinct method for application.
Their styles make them equal because they each serve their particular purpose.
Look at videos from the World Jianshu League. They teach the hidden movements of the Chinese Straight Sword. You will see that no matter how hard a weapon the Jian is being used against, it's ability to defeat a stronger weapon comes from the movements they use to deflect and redirect the attacking weapon.
So yes, these sword are as good as a Katana.
It is not just the sword, it is not just the art(forms) - it is a fusion of the two.
