Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion: Light Armor + Fighting?
If I wear all light armor can I maneuver in sword fights faster?
Also
If I dont use a shield to block...then when I block can I swing my sword back faster (without a shield)

I tried testing with blocking with just a sword or shield.
I *think* that you can swing your weapon faster at your opponent. Still not sure.
I just tested it too. I find it easier to block with my sword and then counterattack too! I killed a bruma guard doing it (I think I was lvl 5) then took all his light armor ;D

Light Armor definitely makes your character more maneuverable in combat. I had a character that wore either Light Armor or no armor and she could run circles around her enemies. Good Stuff!
I don't know if not using a shield makes you faster on the counterattack. I wouldn't think it would have that much of a bearing on speed. I'll look more into this and edit my Answer later.
EDIT: I cannot find anything that states whether or not the absence of a shield makes a character faster on the counterattack. I 'field tested' the theory, though, and my character does seem to be able to counterattack faster when blocking with a sword, dagger, or bow than when using a shield. This is far from concrete, however, as it could be my wishful thinking.
