Eheim professional II External Filter Instructions - marine aquarium?

I have just purchased a marine tank complete setup and my external filter is the Eheim Professional II External filter with pipes but unortunately we do not have an instruction manual with it so we are a bit stuck as when we set it up using our common sense it makes a right racket so any advice would be greatly received. I have been to WWW.Eheim.com to get a Adobe Acrobat manual but after trying to download several time and it not working I have given up on that idea

i am not familiar with this type of filter specifically but noisy cannister filters are usually noisy because they have air in the system. while it is pumping try turning it upside down as best you can, try this a few times to see if it can dispel any air in the system and thus allow the syphon feed to work properly( this is assuming it hasn`t got a `bleed pump` on it). alternatively you could try giving it a good shake, if you are lucky you will see bubbles dispelling out of the return outlet, when you no longer get bubbles out of the return outlet you can assume there is no more air in the unit and find that the filter operates quieter.
