what was an important battle for the north during the civil war?
i need to write a short essay about a battle that occurred during the civil war in the north. I want to do one that had a big impact for the union and isnt boring to write about... so thanks for your ideas! and dont be scared to put a URL for a website about it or somehing
Antietam (Sharpsburg in the South). After that battle, Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation which all but guaranteed that France and England would not participate on the behalf of the Confederacy.
