Whats wrong with embracing differences?

You wouldn't believe all the crap I get from people. I'm a 25 year old black guy. I love rock music, especially old 60's and 70's stuff. I wear mostly vintage shirts and bootcut jeans. As far as black idols go, Lenny Kravitz and JImmy Hendrx are gods! When I open my mouth to speak, I pronounce the "ings" at the end of my words. So why is that certain people think I'm posing. A lot of black people say I'm not black enough. How do you act black? Do I have to listen to only rap, wear baggy jeans, and have gold teeth? That's not being black, it's being stupid. Why is it that I'm more readily accepted by white people than I am black people. I simply refuse to believe that skin color translates to personal mannerisms. So whats the deal?

It's happened to me as well. Just because I'm articulate, all of a sudden, "I'm acting white". Just ignore it....those people are the type that downgrade the race and will never amount to anything.
