What was the total size of the Wehrmacht army and the Red Army in WWII?

Wehrmacht was the name of the unified armed forces of Germany from 1935 to 1945.
It consisted of the Heer (army), the Kriegsmarine (navy) and the Luftwaffe (air force).
Size 18,200,000

Now, the Red Army.... as THE Red Army, not the LATER Soviet Army, but the INITIAL standing army when Hitler invaded Poland.

Here is where we come to a problem.

I cannot find a legit number of the total of the Red Army.

I have seen numbers from 12,000,000 to 30,000,000 to EVERYTHING in the middle.

I am under the impression that we don't actually know.
And I would NOT be surprised, I think Russia pulled troops as they were needed.
Remember Russia was already at war with Finland when WWII opened up.

David - I know there was a ton of desertion on all sides, especially at the end of WWII, including the "Lost Battalion" of US soldiers missing in France.
I know the Russian Liberation Army deserted, fighting BOTH German and Soviet forces.
Is this what you are talking about?
I am aware of the 300,000 former Soviet citizens "served" in the German army wearing the patch of the Russian Liberation Army but few to none were deserters.
The Russian Liberation Army, including General Andrei Andreyevich Vlasov had been members of the White Army and were anti-socialists.
Many of these soldiers were already IN Germany at the onset of the war, most as prisoners from the war with Finland.
Gen Vlasov's former White unit was pushed to the Russian front line and forced to advance into Germany, where they were eventually surrounded and captured, including the General.
Making the Russian Liberation Army propoganda fodder made up of POWs .... there was a "Russian Liberation Army" before there was an actual army.
The POWs were given the option... Nazi POW camp or the Russian Liberation Army.
It backfired, and the Russian Liberation Army ended up fighting both the Russians AND the Nazis on the battlefield.

Other than these 300,000 or so I don't know of any others.
Russians hated Nazis and Nazis hated Russians.
If you know of others please add that info.
